Member Notice: Debit Card Holds and Account Balance Availability – Real Time Processing- the actual time during which a process takes place or an event occurs. Transactions relating to your checking account operate at or near real time. Meaning, you need to be aware of the "Available Amount" in your account. You have a "balance" and an "available" amount. The "Available" amount is the amount you have access to. The debit card "Authorization Holds" or amounts are removed from your balance to show your available amount to use. This is important to recognize in managing your daily transactions to avoid (NSF)– Non Sufficient Fund charges. Funds will draft from your checking account first, then your savings account if the checking is exhausted, and then your overdraft advance program if both are exhausted.
